Glad I wasn't dressing myself in the early '90s ...

I've spent a lot of my downtime in the past couple of days watching old videos of the New Kids On The Block.  It's funny how little yet how much has changed in the past 20-odd years!

The clothes, the hair, the dancing are all ridiculous by today's standards, but as with so many pop idols, there is something timeless and universal about the New Kids On The Block, even after so many years.  And I don't know whether it's because they had that Southie thing going for them or because of the pre-versus-post-September 11th mentality, but the New Kids were far less polished and reserved than their successors would be.

Some not-to-be-missed videos I stumbled across ... both terribly late 80s/early 90s, terribly camp and thus terribly funny.

Jordan Knight, minus his rat tail (can't believe those were ever considered acceptable, nevermind popular), was just oh-so-cute. I would even turn a cheek to his accent if he were ever to tell me to get off at Pahk Street on the Red Line.  (I tell no lie ... the PA lady on the Red Line calls/called it "Pahk Street" and I wanted to smack her for it every day I rode the T.)
