Music Tuesday!

Missed Music Monday yesterday, so I'm making up for it now. Since I've stopped watching New Kids on the Block and Jordan Knight videos en masse, I've had some time to catch up on "real life" and neglected artists.

Like David Archuleta. Here he is, in his most recent video blog, displaying his raw talent (2:06 - 4:26):

He has one of the prettiest, purest voices I've heard from anyone in my/his generation ... but it's not the first time I've said this!

I'd heard "California King Bed" by Rihanna before this ACM Awards performance, but Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland just gives the song a little extra oomph:

It's been a while since I've liked anything Chris Brown has done, but I really, really like "Beautiful People" ... it's perfect for spring:

"Farmer's Daughter" by Crystal Bowersox

I heard the original version of this while she was still competing on "American Idol" ... glad to see that she was able to have some say when it came to her debut album.

I've been following Joy Williams for a couple years now, fascinated by her Christian music roots and subsequent Nashville songwriting career. Now she's back to being front and center as one-half of the band The Civil Wars:

I've recently acquired The Band Perry's debut album and am working on building my Grace Potter and the Nocturnals collection ... and eventually I want Suzanne Vega and Bonnie Raitt's works as well. The work never ends -- there is just so much good music out there. I need a new iPod to contain all of the musical goodness first!
