A song you can't listen to just once

I'm back from the dead, or the land of the very sick. Sometimes life feels so much brighter after you've recovered and are no longer cooped up and miserable.

Anyway, song extravaganza question number 6. I feel like any answer to this question would depend greatly on when it's being asked. If you had asked me this question 4 years ago, it probably would've been a Weepies song, or maybe Nelly Furtado. And since it's being asked of me now, it's going to be a Jordan Knight song.

Since I first heard this song sometime in May, I have been in love with it. I'm not typically big on dance-y songs, but maybe this isn't really a dance song. I can't really tell you why I love it so much -- I don't think it's any one element, since none are particularly impressive on its own. But together, I feel like it just exudes a really sexy, summery feel to it. This is my current ringtone AND I've turned a couple friends onto the song (it's that contagious). Plus, I'm not about to forget the little moment Jordan and I had during this song's breakdown at his album release party!

The other song which has come into its own for me is a New Kids On The Block song which I've always considered one of my favorites. But I think I can officially declare it my absolute favorite NKOTB song. No lie, I could listen to this song on repeat probably for an entire day.

When I first heard it, my favorite part was Jordan's part at the top of the second verse. Then I found the album version of the song (above) and fell in love with the harmonization towards the end. It's sexy and sweet all at once, which my first boyfriend once said was the best combination of qualities. He was not wrong. I pretty much hear something new or find something new to focus on each time I listen to this song. It's the present that never stops giving ... and I don't even mind how dated it sounds.

Other songs I can't listen to just once? Probably fun songs from my adolescence, like "Butterfly" by CrazyTown or songs that remind me of better times like "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry ... and sad ones like "Almost Lover" by A Fine Frenzy, which could probably be the answer to all the categories covered in this song extravaganza.
