My mom's been in town for the past week and some, and on Thursday afternoon, she brought me to Danshui, which is the very last stop on the Taipei MRT's red line. As we neared the stop on the train, all I saw was water and mountains. To me, it appeared to be to Taipei what Brighton is to London, a sort of resort-ish spot. But according to my mother, the rent is cheaper here (despite the amazing views) because no one wants to take the 20-25 minute commute into downtown Taipei!

I would totally do it.
