Music Monday: Alison Valentine

I've been posting a ton of acoustic, singer-songwriter music lately, so this'll be a nice break. I happened to watch a couple of shows during London Fashion Week (something I never do) and I fell in love with many of the fashion shows' soundtracks.

Above all, I loved "Peanut Butter (Moon Boots Remix)" by Alison Valentine the most. The Topshop Unique show was set to this song, and it just gave the show an incredibly urban, contemporary, cool vibe that I feel is far too cool (or maybe just laidback) for a city like New York City. Oddly enough, Alison Valentine is based out of New York City ... and has a killer name. I think holding the show at the Tate Modern also helped give it an edgy, more urban feel. Ah, London.

The Burberry Prorsum show was so quintessentially English, soundtrack included. It included "Picking Up The Pieces" by Paloma Faith (whose song "New York" I love) and a live performance by Tom Odell.

If only "life" and art and music and commercialism always intertwined so well!
