Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Once in a while, I go searching for something truly unusual and quirky to do ... holidays and traditions can grow stale quite quickly, so fresh perspectives are always welcome. That is exactly what I thought when I found out that an annual Halloween dog parade is held each year at Tompkins Square Park in New York City.

It was chaotic, with dog owners showing up late, crowds gathering around the park to sneak a peek at the great costumes, and dog owners dressing up to match their pets. It was a sight to see, that's for sure, but there was no shortage of cute! I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

This dog even has the Big Bird leg warmers!

  1. Yes! I dropped the ball with our pup this year, but I'm getting in on the fun next year for sure!
