Ásgeir music
source: Ásgeir's Facebook page
Once upon a time, I heard a song called "Was There Nothing," by this beautiful and bare voice called Ásgeir. But now, there is nothing to show for it. Apparently the song hasn't been released yet in the United States and thusly has been ripped down from YouTube, where I found it. It was a beautiful, beautiful song, though, trust me.

According to the internet, Ásgeir's debut album has become Iceland's best-selling debut album ever, and 10% of Icelanders own it. (To be fair, the country has a population of just over 300,000.) All this, and he's only 21. Here are some other songs from the singer-songwriter, who recalls Bon Iver with a touch of Mumford & Sons and psychedelic pop, too ...

Now if you find a working YouTube video for "Was There Nothing," could you please let me know?
