Well, the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection's shaping up to a be a big one, if nothing else. I clicked and clicked through the lookbook, and it would just not quit. In a word, it's classic. I always hope for something more from the Target high-end fashion collaborations, but I'm thinking I should stop already. I was so, so excited for this collection when it announced the collaboration back in May. To be fair, Phillip Lim's designs -- even for his own, full-priced high-end collections -- veer towards the classic, the unisex. There are some interesting pieces, but nothing I'd fight for (which is what Target wants, right?).

Honestly, to me, this comes across as very "ZARA" ... I don't know if that speaks better for ZARA or Phillip Lim. ZARA sells its pieces at just about the same price points, so if you are a ZARA fan, I don't think you can really go wrong with this Target collection.

The collection very much reminds me of (cue teenybopper reference) the style of Louis Tomlinson's girlfriend, Eleanor Calder, who has become a bonafide fashionista thanks to the legions of adoring One Direction fans. Overall, there are a couple of really interesting accessories here, and the rest is pretty run-of-the-mill classic pieces, which would be great for everyday wear and the office.
